New home color trend #1: Grey
Shades of grey have been hugely popular for the past several years, popping up as a motif in million dollar homes, contemporary designs, and craftsman style lodges.
While we do expect to see fewer greys dominating the color wheel, shades of grey - especially those with a strong blue hue - will continue to popular in 2014 new homes.
New home color trend #2: Bright and bold are moving in
This year, we are finally seeing some exuberance popping into new home paint palettes.
BRIGHT colors are all coming in - corals, yellows, pinks, purples, reds - with a continuance of greens.
We'll also see more blues coming back, a choice often favored by men.
Furniture that is white or khaki is hugely popular right now because it lets you add any splash of color - such as accent pieces that mix bold navy, white, moss green and bronze.
New home color trend #3: Blues
Combinations of blue, white, and tan are tried and true.
A classic porcelain blue bathroom - a mainstay for those who love traditional color palettes - blends beautifully in homes with white kitchen cabinets and khaki main walls:
Throughout 2014, we will continue to see more navy blues and indigos, in addition to light blues, in new homes:
These navys and indigos will show up as main wall colors and accent wall colors, in addition to punctuating kitchen and bathroom tile mosaics.
