There are a multitude of different permits and fees required to build any new home. Orange County and Chapel Hill have long had some of the highest fees in the Triangle.
The impact fees paid to construct a new home in Orange County NC will vary based on the district the home is in.
The Orange County schools district covers most of Orange County, including Hillsborough, portions of Mebane, and portions of Chapel Hill and Carrboro that are outside of the Chapel Hill school district.

Chapel Hill and Orange County continues to be one of the most sought after areas of the Triangle, and the fees reflect the popularity of this county.

Fees for new homes constructed inside the Chapel Hill/Carrboro City School District are the highest in the entire Triangle. There are many counties that do not yet charge any impact fees, but Orange County is not one of them!
