Walk in Pantries, Butler's Pantries, and Wet Bar Cabinets | Trends in Apex NC New Homes:

How often do new homes include a walk in size pantry, separate butler pantry, or wet bar?  The Triangle Parade of Homes can be an indicator of new home trends.  We've analyzed the new homes in Apex entered in the Parade of Homes, and here's what we found out about pantry storage:

1. Butler's Pantry Trends in Apex NC New Homes:

Fourteen new homes in Apex were featured in the Parade of Homes

  • 3 of 14 or 21% of homes in Apex had a separate butler's pantry
  • 11 or 79% of homes in Apex had no separate butler pantry

  • 7 of 14 or 50% of homes in Apex included a walk in pantry in their floor plan layout.

  • No Apex homes available for viewing in the Triangle Parade had a separate Wet Bar in Game Room or other area included on their floor plans.

Apex Home Builders in the Triangle Parade of Homes 2016:

The Triangle Parade of Homes 2016 can be a great indicator for master bathrooms design trends.  New home and custom home builders in Apex entered homes into the Triangle Parade of Homes that represent what their homebuyers are asking for. 

So what's the latest trend for master suite layouts?  We've analyzed the data, and here's what we found:

What's New in Master Bath Vanity Trends from Apex Home Builders?  Master bathroom vanities and sitting areas:

The most popular type of vanity layout was a traditional straight dual vanity.   Two additonal types of vanities featured in floor plans were split vanities and vanities with a seating area.

1. Split Vanities - 14% of Parade of Homes Entries by Apex Home Builders

  • 2 Apex New Homes in the Parade, or 14%, had a split vanity design.

2. Vanities with a Seating Area - 7% of Parade of Homes Entries by Apex Home Builders

  • 1 of 14 Apex new home entries, or 7%, had a seating area in the vanity.
  • Apex new home builders have had more requests for inclusion of a "make up" seating area in the Master Bath, between the two sink areas.  This is usually placed at a slightly lower height, to allow comfortable use with a standard stool or chair.  An open "window seat" style area can also be placed between the vanities, which allows separation of space.

3. Wrap Around Vanities - 0 Parade of Homes Entries by Apex Home Builders

  • 0 of the 14 Apex new homes included wrap around vanities in the master bath.

4. Standard Vanities - 79% of Parade of Homes Entries by Apex Home Builders

  • The remaining new homes included a straight vanity with two sinks, of varying lengths and with varying features (some homes featured drawers in the vanity cabinets while others did not, for instance).
