The April 2012 Wake County and Raleigh area market reports show the continued strength of the local housing market. 

There have been huge increases in closings in April 2012 versus April 2011, according to the recently released Triangle MLS Report for April 2012.

11.5% Increase in Closed Sales in Wake County

Wake County closed sales are up 11.5 percent in April 2011 versus April 2012.

April 2011 - 959 Closed Sales in Wake County

April 2012 - 1,069 Closed Sales in Wake County

 

32.8% DECREASE in Total Homes For Sale in Wake County

Raleigh Housing Market Report

The total available inventory of homes for sale in the Raleigh area, specifically in Wake County, has decreased from 9,264 last year to 6,224 this year.

 
Wake County is currently at a 6.7 months supply of inventory - in the lowest range it's been for about 4 years.

6 months of supply represents neither a buyers or a sellers market.

 

Much lower than a six month supply, and Wake County will move to a "Seller's Market".
