15 Month Streak of Increasing Home Sales in Raleigh NC

Considering buying a new home in the Raleigh area of Wake County?  You're not the only one.  There was a huge increase in closings in January 2013 versus January 2012, according to the recently released Triangle MLS Report for January 2013.

This is a continuation of a year long trend in home sale increases in Wake County.

How's the market in Raleigh? Good, and getting better.  Raleigh has seen double digit increases in home sales for most of the past year.

January 2012 - 637 Closed Sales in Wake County

 January 2013 - 817 Closed Sales in Wake County

28.3% Increase in Closed Sales in Wake County


Inventory of Homes for Sale in Raleigh/Wake County

At the same time sales are showing a high double digit INCREASE, the number of available homes is showing a double digit DECREASE.

January 2011 - 8072 Homes for Sale in Wake County

January 2012 - 6589 Homes for Sale in Wake County

January 2013 - 5327 Homes for Sale in Wake County

19.2% Decrease in Homes for Sale in Wake County

 Months of Supply in Raleigh/Wake County

January 2011 - 8.9 Months of Supply in Wake County

January 2012 - 6.6 Months of Supply in Wake County

January 2013 - 4.8 Months of Supply in Wake County

35.5% Decrease in Months of Supply in Wake County

Wake County is currently at a 4.8 months supply of inventory - the lowest in more than 5 years.  More than 6 months of supply represents a buyer's market.  Six months of supply represents neither a buyers or a sellers market.  Currently, the Raleigh market is heading into a seller's market.
