The Glendale mixes two architectural styles: European and French Country.

On the exterior, this luxury floor plan features:

 - A low-swept gable and stone accents

 - Arched dormers with French Normandy graces

 - Columns, curved braces, and stone-clad tower on the formal entry

 - A Column-lined foyer

Step into spacious graciousness in this Raleigh custom home design, with the Glendale's large formal dining room to one side, and straight in front the arched entrance great room with vaulted ceiling, bay window, fireplace, and built-in media center.

Beyond the great room, you'll find:

 - Massive island kitchen that creates the feel of an Old World, hearth-centered kitchen and an octagonal-shape breakfast nook

 - First floor office with a built-in, wraparound desk and windows on three sides

 - Library, with fireplace, bookshelf, and access to a partially covered patio

 - First floor master bedroom with see-through fireplace between the bedroom and bath, large soaking tub, walk-in shower, and massive closet with built-in dresser and folding counter

 - And, of special interest, the laundry and mudroom area with central island cabinet folding table, dumb waiter, and laundry chute

 - Three bedrooms and baths, as well as an optional finished room, are upstairs

European and French Country Floor Plan Features

What makes a European or French Country floor plan special?

European floor plans can refer to a range of new home styles based in particular geographic locations, including English Tudor, French Country, and Dutch Gable. European floor plans can also indicate a particular time period, including Georgian, Victorian, and Greek Revival.

French country homes often feature:

 - Exteriors made of brick, stone, or stucco (with emphasis on masonry designs)

 - Large roof lines

 - Balconies (to create a French 'chateau' aura)

 - Interior design aspects reminiscent of the French countryside

Because of their special features, sweeping facades, and square footage, many European and French Country homes are a popular choice in luxury floor plan designs.
